The Sigma Eyehealth Centers offices are growing, and we are currently seeking to add a full-time Optometric Assistant to our dynamic medical team!
The Optometric Assistant position involves work in all aspects of a busy optometric practice, including the front desk, patient medical care, and the dispensary.
- Front desk involves general healthcare office work, including answering phones, scheduling patients, chart preparation, appointment reminder calls, and general office cleaning and sanitizing.
- Patient care includes preliminary testing of patients, obtaining medical histories and entering the information in the electronic medical record system, performing special procedure testing, conveying patient information to the doctor, and following up with patients when needed.
- The dispensary involves educating our patients about current frame and lens options and then assisting them in selecting fashionable eyewear and quality lenses, as well as completing all related ordering and billing of materials and providing follow-up services that include fittings, adjustments, and repairs.
We are searching for someone with a friendly and outgoing personality who can work well with the rest of our Sigma team to provide an exceptional experience for our patients. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, comfortable with technology, good with time management, organized, reliable, and a true team player.
The successful candidate will work in all three of our office locations – Monticello, Anamosa, and Marion. The position requires up to two evenings per week until 6:00 p.m.; however, there are no weekend hours, and the offices close at 1:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Sigma offers a professional and positive work environment with the opportunity for significant personal and professional development. The pay for the position is very competitive, and our full-time employees are eligible for a number of benefits, including an FSA, 401(k), paid vacation and holidays, and contributions to an employer-sponsored healthcare plan.
We are willing to train the right person, so experience in an optometric office is not necessary. However, we do need someone who is enthusiastic about learning new skills!
